Vanilla pods produced in Papua New Guinea are similar to those cultivated in Tahiti.

Indeed, they belong to the species Vanilla Tahitensis.

They are characterized by a black color, darker than the Tahitian ones, and also thinner. They have woody and peppery flavors. They may be slightly “covered with frost”, that is to say have a soft and bright aspect provoked by the exudation of vanillin, present in a higher proportion than in their “cousins” from Tahiti.

 

This variety of vanilla is perfect in order to cook dishes made of fish or white meat, and also desserts.

 

You can notice that the value for money is interesting. Vanilla beans contain a lot of vanilla grains.
